Rodeo

We not only use our horses on the ranch to gather and work cattle, we also rodeo on them.  Our son Nathan and daughter Sydney compete in the Oklahoma Youth Rodeo Association and the Texoma Junior Rodeo Association.  They each have made the finals every year that they have competed.

Nathan was 2nd in the average in 6 and under barrels at the TJRA Finals in 2004 on a home raised gelding, SCT Steel A Doc "Comanche".  The gelding is a half brother to our stallion Silky Blue Steel.  In 2005 at the OYRA Finals Nathan was 3rd in the average in 9 and under Poles on the same horse.  Nathan competes in Barrels, Poles, and Goat Tying on this horse.  Nathan will begin his roping career soon.

Sydney began competing in rodeos in 2004 when she turned 4 years old.  She made the 2005 Finals of the TJRA in 6 in under barrels.  Sydney was riding a home raised 5 year old 16 hand gelding sired by our stallion Silky Blue Steel.  Sydney and "Red" make quite a team.  Little Bitty Girl on a Big Red Horse....Watch for them in the future.

4/9/06     Sydney tied for 2nd in the average at the Choctaw Nation Championship Playday Series Final in the 5 and under age group.  Nathan was 8th in average in the tough 6-9 age group.   We are so proud of both of them.

10/5-10/6/07  Sydney was 3rd in the Average in 6 and under Barrels at the TJRA Finals.  She ended up 3rd in the year end in both Barrels and Straight Barrels.  She was riding Theresa Oden's mare Circle Trey - who is bred to our grulla Stallion for an 08 foal.  Sydney made the finals in all of her events.  Barrels, Straight Barrels, Poles and Ribbon Goats.  She rode a 7 year old Gelding "Red" sired by Silky Blue Steel in Poles, and a 5 year old Gelding "Tarzan" sired also by Silky Blue Steel in Goats.  Nathan qualified for the TJRA Finals in all of his events in the 7-10 age group.  He rode his horse "Comanche" in Barrels, Poles, and Goat Tying.  Comanche is a half brother to Silky Blue Steel.  Nathan rode "RD" in Break Away.  RD is sired by Silky Blue Steel.

Jason and I are so very proud of both of them...

'99 Buckskin Gelding

Steel A Glow x Caloric

Beautiful Silver Buckskin Gelding.  Finished Head, Heel and Barrel horse.  16.0 hands, sound and gentle.  This is a outstanding young rodeo or ranch horse.  AQHA barrel and pole point earner.  This horse just keeps getting better and better.  Excellent in the box, scores good, and breaks flat.  Blue has plenty of speed and size.    He is good in the alley, quiet and calm warming up.  My son rode him at a few junior rodoes and Jason is now heading and heeling on him.  Blue is working great and they are winning.  It will take a whole lot of money to buy him from Jason.  He won't only be one of the prettiest horses at the roping but he will work pretty good too.  Rope and Run Barrels on him.

6/14/07 Jason placed on Blue at the Big Money Team Roping heeling.

7/15/07 Jason placed on Blue heeling and heading at the 2007 Oklahoma USTRC Championships.

9/1/07 Stacey placed 7th and won the high point woman's heeling buckle at the Booger Barter Sparkey Super Six Show Down.
